Old Man of Hoy Hike
The hike from Rackwick Bay to the Old Man of Hoy offers a breathtaking journey through one of Scotland's most dramatic landscapes. Starting at the serene Rackwick Bay, known for its sweeping sands and rugged cliffs, the trail takes you across moorland paths and past towering sea stacks, leading to the iconic Old Man of Hoy. This 137-meter (449 ft) tall sea stack, sculpted by millennia of wind and waves, stands as a striking natural monument on the Orkney Islands' wild coastline. The hike is around 7.5 kilometers (4.7 miles) round trip and provides stunning views of the Atlantic, making it a must-do for nature lovers and hikers.
We will make time at the end of the hike for a visit to the newly refurbished Scapa Flow Museum at Lynnes.
Its an 8am ferry from Houton for this trip so ither I meet you at the ferry or I'll arrange to collect you from your accommodation.
