Two day Wild Swimming Retreat
Join us for a 2-day wild swimming retreat exploring Orkney’s stunning coastline and historic landmarks. Cold-water dips, scenic drives, and cosy local stops
🚐 Up to 6 guests, with pick-up from ferry, airport, or accommodation.
💷 £150 per person per day (includes travel).

Day One
First Stop - Italian Chapel
Visit the historic WWII chapel built by Italian POWs.
Suggested time: 30–45 mins. ( £4 entry fee)
Stop 2: Churchill Barriers – Swim
• Beautiful clear water and sheltered bays with wartime history beneath the surface.
• Bring: wetsuit or swimsuit, towel, water shoes (pebbly underfoot).
Stop 3: Brough of Deerness – Swim
• Stunning coastal swim with dramatic cliffs and turquoise water.
• Short 20 minute walk along a headland path — wear good footwear.
• Bring: dry bag, warm layers for after, snacks, water.
Stop 4: Lunch at Deerness Distillery
• Perfect refuel after the morning swims.
• Change into warm, dry clothes before heading in.
• Optional: tasting or pick up a local gin.
Stop 5: Inganess Beach – Final Swim
• Sandy beach with a shipwreck offshore and beautiful evening light
• Ideal for a relaxing, gentle swim to end the day.
• Bring a camera for golden hour photos.

Day Two
First Stop - Standing Stones of Stenness
• One of the oldest stone circles in Britain
• Suggested time: 30–45 mins.
Stop 2: Ring of Brodgar
• A short drive from Stenness, this impressive stone circle is larger and has stunning views.
• Suggested time: 45 mins.
• Easy walk around the stones.
Stop 3: Brough of Birsay
• Tidal island with Norse and Pictish history.
• Check the tide tables carefully access is only possible at low tide.
• Walk across the causeway and explore the site.
• Bring sturdy footwear and warm clothes.
Stop 4: Swim at Skippy Geo
• Beautiful, hidden-feeling swim spot near Brough of Birsay
• Ideal for a refreshing dip after exploring the Brough.
• Bring wetsuit or swimsuit, towel, and warm layers for after.
Stop 5: Lunch at Birsay Bay Tea Room
• Cosy café with views over the bay, perfect for warming up.
• Change into dry clothes before heading inside.
• Optional: try local soup, sandwiches, or cakes.
Stop 6 : Waukmill Bay

Sheltered sandy beach with shallow waters and beautiful scenery.

Great for an afternoon or evening sunset swim.
